Cathay Pacific Airlines will operate its Seattle-Hong Kong flights on Airbus A350-900 aircraft like this one.

Cathay Pacific Airlines is resuming nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Hong Kong in 2026, marking a return of service that it began in 2019 before service was canceled during the global pandemic.

The service resumption marks the last pre-pandemic carrier to return to Sea-Tac, the Port of Seattle announced today in a news release.

Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho said the port, which operates Sea-Tac, was thrilled to welcome Cathay Pacific back.

“Their return not only reconnects our region with a world-class airline, but also deepens our ties with Hong Kong, one of Asia’s most vibrant and dynamic cities,” Cho said in the release. “This new service also offers travelers with seamless access to Cathay’s extensive network across Southeast Asia, Mainland China, and India. This is an exciting opportunity, opening doors, for both business and leisure travelers.”

Service begins March 30.

Cathay Pacific Airlines’ new year-round route will operate five times per week on 250-seat Airbus A350-900 aircraft. As a oneworld carrier, Cathay Pacific passengers also will be able to connect in Seattle to and from Alaska Airlines’ network across North America.

Lavinia Lau, Cathay chief customer and commercial officer, said in a separate airline release, “We are excited to resume direct passenger flights to Seattle, reinforcing our goal to deepen business and cultural ties between Hong Kong and a dynamic tech hub in the United States. This route not only provides greater convenience for our customers, but also supports the growing demand for connectivity between Asia and North America, particularly among travelers from the Chinese Mainland and India.”

Sea-Tac currently offers 58 service options to 36 international destinations on 30 different airlines. Six new services have been announced so far for 2026, pushing Sea-Tac beyond 60 international services, the port said in its release.
