Atalanta slap €70m price tag on Inter Milan target Ederson

Inter Milan must walk away from their quest to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson as La Dea seek an inflated fee.

Per Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the former Europa League winners have slapped a staggering €70 million price tag on the Brazilian.

With Hakan Calhanoglu increasingly likely to exit the San Siro, Beppe Marotta is in the market for a new midfielder.

Despite naming Lazio’s Nicolo Rovella their top target, the Italian’s €50m release clause remains an obstacle.

Furthermore, Marotta’s relationship with Claudio Lotito is far from idyllic.

Keen to avoid protracted talks with Lazio, Inter keep other options open.

However, the ex-Spezia man is out of reach after Atalanta decided they wouldn’t sell the 25-year-old for less than €70m.

Previously linked with Liverpool, Ederson is among Serie A’s finest midfielders.

Yet, his price tag is well beyond Inter’s price range.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri may turn to other targets, including Torino’s Samuele Ricci.

Despite the Italian’s affordable €30m price tag, Inter would likely have to beat AC Milan to his signature.
