Arsenal Hold Talks With Premier League ‘Superstar’, Berta Plotting Bid

Arsenal have made contact to sign West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus and are now weighing up making an offer in the summer transfer window, according to a report from TBR Football.

The Gunners have been linked with a host of different attacking players in recent weeks, but they are yet to confirm any new additions. Arsenal are closing in on reinforcements, with both Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga set to arrive through the door as their first summer signings.

Attention will likely shift to bringing in new forwards after Kepa and Zubimendi, and it’s no surprise after they struggled to compete with Liverpool in the Premier League title race. The north London club are also pushing to bring Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard to the Emirates, with a deal close to being agreed.

According to a report from TBR Football, Arsenal are now weighing up a bid to sign West Ham attacking star Kudus after making contact over a potential move. Although the Ghanaian international has an £80m release clause, it’s claimed that the Hammers are prepared to accept an offer north of £60m to allow him to depart.

West Ham are open to selling Kudus as Graham Potter looks to reshape his squad, and although Arsenal are yet to make an offer, their interest is described as ‘serious’. Kudus predominantly plays on the right-hand side of attack, so it will be interesting to see where Arsenal would fit him in, considering Bukayo Saka’s importance in the same position.

During his career, Kudus, described as a ‘superstar’, has also played in other roles in attack, and could be eyed as cover for Martin Odegaard in the middle too. The West Ham star will likely want to come in and play a key role at his next club, so he will have to weigh that up when deciding where to go.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said Clásico rivals Real Madrid have a model of “power” and “signing players” that contrasts with how the Catalan club is run. Laporta overlooked that Barça have also spent big money on transfers in the past, saying the Blaugrana are “more than a club” because they focus on developing players.
