Tesco reveals major change in 1,200 UK stores by November

This will see the closure of over-the-counter ParcelShop services at 1,200 Express stores across the UK.

The supermarket first joined forces with the parcel delivery company back in 2021, which allowed customers to collect and return parcels from many retailers at Tesco Express stores.

Tesco has revealed it is currently in the process of “winding down” the service and will display details in individual shops of when it will stop at that location.

However, on November 28, the service will end across all Tesco Express stores, Sky’s Money Blog reports.

But there will be a 10 day “buffer period” after this date to give shoppers who have ordered any parcels for collection via Evri’s ParcelShops in a Tesco Express store, enough time to pick up their purchases.

A Tesco spokesperson told Newsquest: “Our partnership with Evri, offering an over-the-counter Parcel Shop service at Tesco Express stores, is coming to an end.

“We are in the process of winding down this service in our stores and will display details in individual stores of when the service will stop at that location.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

Simple Ways to Shop Sustainably and Save Money

Following on from the success of Tesco’s partnership with Evri, in 2023 customers were able to collect Clubcard points for every parcel they sent via the popular delivery firm – Evri will be continuing its partnership with Tesco Clubcard.

The move from Tesco comes as Asda has just announced a new partnership with Evri to introduce ParcelShops at its sites around the UK.

The service has recently launched in over 300 Asda locations, its Express convenience shops and some of its supermarkets and superstores.

It will eventually be rolled out to all 1,200 Asda stores across the UK by April next year.
