Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has not held back with his scathing verdict of Liverpool amid their ongoing struggles in the Premier League

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has torn into Liverpool players following their run of four consecutive defeats, claiming Arne Slot’s stars don’t understand what the manager wants from them.
The Reds spent big in the recent summer transfer window, overhauling their squad in an attempt to retain their Premier League crown.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished runners-up to the Reds last season, and both teams fought for the title once again in the early weeks of the season.
As things stand, the Gunners have the momentum and sit three points clear of Manchester City in second place, while Liverpool have dropped down to third following three straight defeats in the Premier League, four points adrift of Arsenal.
They did bounce back with an emphatic win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last night, though Wright has not been convinced by Liverpool this season.
Sky Sports discounted Premier League and EFL package

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
“I don’t think they understand what the manager wants them to do,” Wright said on the Overlap. “When you look at the way they are playing, they either win or they lose, it’s feast or famine with them.
“There is no cohesion with them, none of the players are thriving with them, you look at [Hugo] Ekitike, he started the season well. You would have thought to leave him in there.
“I know [Alexander] Isak has come in but the only player you can look at from Liverpool who is doing it is [Ekitike] and he has been left out the last couple of [Premier League] games. Full backs are not doing it at the moment for me.
“Midfield it’s not happening, [Ryan] Gravenberch is not having the same kind of season. With Salah, you’ve either got to create space for him or give him the ball where he can go and attack, but he is not getting either of those two things.
“Give him the ball where he has got time or get him to attack the space, none of that is happening. Trent is a massive miss in that. The players don’t seem quite convinced.”
