Notable People, Celebrities Show Out For Holy War In Provo

PROVO, Utah — Maybe the biggest, now annual, sporting event in the state of Utah is when the Utah Utes and BYU Cougars meet on the football field.

That effect was on full display in 2025’s week eight, as many celebrities and other notable people attended LaVell Edwards Stadium to see the Holy War.

Obviously, the entire FOX Sports Big Noon Kickoff crew was there, featuring names like Dave Portnoy, Mark Ingram, Urban Meyer, Matt Leinart, and Brady Quinn.

Also attached to the college football show were two former BYU Cougars turned NFL stars: LB Kyle Van Noy and RB Jamaal Williams.

Currently, Van Noy plays for the Baltimore Ravens. He mentioned that it was his first time back in Provo for a gameday in 12 years.

Another appearance that could’ve been assumed, Big 12 Conference commissioner Brett Yormark showed up to LES on Saturday.

He was in Salt Lake City when Big Noon Kickoff visited there a couple of weeks back, so it’s only right that he attended the BYU version. It is also by far the biggest conference game of the week, even with Texas Tech and Arizona State facing off in Tempe.

Pop Star Benson Boone Attends BYU-Utah Rivalry Game

A big name in the music world pulled up to Provo for some Holy War football.

Benson Boone, an alum of Brigham Young University–Idaho, was in attendance on Saturday.

No. 15 BYU-No. 23 Utah Game

Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025

Venue: LaVell Edwards Stadium

Location: Provo, Utah

Utah reentered the Top 25 this week, checking in at No. 23 after crushing a shorthanded Arizona State team 42-10 at home last weekend. The Utes have won two consecutive games by an average of 33 points.

BYU jumped out to a 6-0 start for the second consecutive season, marking the first time in program history that they have accomplished that feat. The Cougars hope to have gained momentum in a rain-soaked, 2OT road win over the Arizona Wildcats.

BYU is looking for its third straight win for the first time since 1992.
