‘Trump threw away India ties because of ego, money from Pak: Former Obama aide slams US President – US News

Senior Democratic leader Rahm Emanuel lashed out at US President Donald Trump in no uncertain terms this week — accusing him of derailing a 40-year relationship with India “because of his ego”. The three-term US Representative who served as White House Chief of Staff under Barack Obama also claimed that Pakistan had given “some money” to Trump’s son.

“President Trump has thrown away the relationship with India because of his ego and some money from Pakistan that was paid to his son…He threw it all away because Modi would not say that the President deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for the ceasefire (with Pakistan),” he alleged during a recent interview.

The remarks came even as US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hailed India as an “ally” and pushed for support against China.

“This is China versus the world. They have pointed a bazooka at the supply chains and the industrial base of the entire free world. We have already been in touch with the allies. We will be meeting with them this week and, you know, I expect that we will get substantial global support from the Europeans, from the Indians, from the democracies in Asia,” he told Fox Business on Monday.
