Zubimendi’s brace against Nottingham Forest was obviously the primary reason for his nomination, with a stunning volley and an unexpected headed goal propelling Arsenal to victory that day.

But the midfielder also performed well in tough matches against Manchester City and Newcastle United, with Arsenal drawing the former clash and winning the latter.

Zubimendi’s two goals for the month could only be beaten by Haaland, who is surely one of the favourites for the award. With five goals and one assist, Haaland showed some of his best form in September.
