The Circle K convenience store chain in Hong Kong has resumed digital payment services after suspending them for more than a week due to a cyberattack, but bill payment services and loyalty programme functions remain unavailable.
Circle K Hong Kong, which operates nearly 400 outlets in the city, said on Tuesday evening that its stores have resumed QR code, credit card and contactless payments.
Top-up services such as Alipay, WeChat Pay and Octopus are also now available, it added.
However, EPS payments, bill payment services and voucher, stamp collecting and redemption functions under Circle K’s loyalty programme remain suspended, the company said.
“We continue to work diligently to restore those services as soon as possible,” Circle K said in a statement posted on social media.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding and support as we work to restore our services.”
