Premier League news: Latest updates as Slot urges caution on Isak integration

The international break is over and it’s finally time for the Premier League to make its long-awaited return.

There’s plenty for fans to dig their teeth into with Friday marking the first time managers have had to face the press since the transfer window slammed shut on Sept. 1.

The likes of Alexander Isak, Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons are set to wear their new colours for the first time but how long their supporters’ goodwill lasts is dependent on results.

Manchester United newboy Senne Lammens cannot afford to make an early mistake given the uncertainty that has surrounded Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping options of late.

Elsewhere, Eberechi Eze is set to make his first Emirates appearance as an Arsenal player after making his debut in the team’s narrow defeat at Anfield while Gianluigi Donnarumma is set for a battle with James Trafford for a starting spot between the sticks at Manchester City.

There’s also a new face in the dugout at Nottingham Forest with Ange Postecoglou making his return to the Premier League.

He was on form at his unveiling on Thursday, revealing that he knew he was set for the sack at Tottenham Hotspur before their Europa League triumph and that he believes he can fulfil Evangelos Marinakis’ hopes of bringing trophies to the City Ground.

Speaking of Spurs, expect Thomas Frank to address Daniel Levy’s shock exit from the north London club during the international break.
