Arcfox, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), officially launched the T1 compact electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), aiming to regain relevance in the Chinese market with competitive pricing.

Arcfox formally rolled out the T1 at an event yesterday, with a starting price of just RMB 62,800 ($8,820), making it one of the most affordable EV models in China.

The brand offers five T1 variants priced at RMB 62,800, RMB 65,800, RMB 69,800, RMB 77,800, and RMB 87,800 respectively.

The five-seat model measures 4,337 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm.

It is expected to compete with models including BYD’s (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Dolphin, which measures 4,125 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

The Arcfox T1 is a front-wheel-drive model offering two motor options with maximum power outputs of 70 kW (94 hp) and 95 kW.

The model features battery packs with capacities of 33.4 kWh and 42.3 kWh, delivering CLTC ranges of 320 km and 425 km respectively.

The Arcfox T1 supports DC fast charging, achieving a 30 percent to 80 percent charge in 16 minutes.

It also features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch dashboard.

The model debuted at the 2025 Shanghai auto show in April, with the first production vehicles rolling off the line in early August.

Arcfox ranks among China’s earliest EV startups. While it reported monthly sales figures in 2020, sales disclosures have become scarce since 2021 amid weak performance.
