During his official visit to Germany and the United Kingdom, a total of 33 memoranda of understanding were signed to bring in investment to the tune of ₹15,516 crore that is expected to provide employment for 17,613 people, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said on Monday (September 8, 2025).

Mr. Stalin, who arrived in Chennai airport on Monday (September 8, 2025) morning from London, completing his week-long visit to Germany and the United Kingdom, said he would visit Hosur on September 11. He would inaugurate a unit of Delta Electronics established with an investment of ₹2,000 crore.

The Chief Minister is also scheduled to unveil the foundation for several other projects to be implemented at a cost of ₹1,100 crore. Like in Thoothukudi, the Tamil Nadu government would also organise an investors meet in Hosur, Mr. Stalin said and further hoped many investment proposals would be received there.

Terming his visit to Germany and the U.K. as fulfilling and a huge success, he said 10 new companies have come forward to invest in Tamil Nadu, while 17 others who have presence in the State have chosen not to go elsewhere for their expansion plans.

Rejecting criticism from his political opponents over his visit abroad, Mr. Stalin said his visits helped seal investment proposals, as they were able to realise the potentional of Tamil Nadu. “Earlier, they were of the view that some other State only had the potential.” Referring to his meeting with Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst and MP Catherine West, he said these helped in strengthening ties and such partnership was necessary.

Beyond the signing of MoU with companies, Mr. Stalin also recalled having unveiled a portrait of late social reformer ‘Periyar’ E.V. Ramasamy in the University of Oxford campus and taking part in ‘Self-Respect Movement and its Legacies Conference’ in St. Antony’s College, and said that was a proud moment for him.

He also recalled having taken part in the events organised by the Non Resident Tamils Welfare Board, interacting with students in the School of Oriental and African Studies about his Dravidian model of governance, visiting the tomb of late philosopher and political theorist Karl Marx, visiting the house in which late Dr. B.R. Ambedkar lived, paying tributes to the statue of late Tamil saint-poet Tiruvalluvar and visiting and paying tributes at the grave of late Tamil scholar G.U. Pope.

The CM also thanked Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and officials for organising this tour that turned out to be successful. He commented Mr. Rajaa saying he has proved his mettle in this tour. Minister for Water Resources Duraimurugan, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, MP T.R. Baalu, party functionary R.S. Bharathi were present during the press conference in the airport campus.

‘Tamil Nadu not silent but leading a silent revolution’

To a query on reports that the Union government was ignoring Tamil Nadu for the past 10 years and why was the Tamil Nadu government silent over it, Mr. Stalin replied: “No, it is not silence. Do not think it is silence. We are leading a silent revolution. As for as we are concerned, how much ever they boycott us, we are overcoming that and emerging number one. That is important.”
