Stunning amount Bill Gates would be worth if he lost 99% of his fortune – Supercar Blondie

Even if Bill Gates lost 99 percent of his fortune, he’d still be richer than almost anyone on Earth.

With a net worth of roughly $117 billion, losing nearly all of it would still leave him with a jaw-dropping $1.17 billion.

That’s enough to buy private jets, luxury homes, and even entire sports teams, and still have money left over.

It’s a stunning reminder of just how enormous his fortune really is, even as he works to give most of it away.

His children will only receive $10 million each

Bill Gates has long pledged to donate the vast majority of his wealth through The Giving Pledge, a philanthropic initiative he co-founded with Warren Buffett in 2010.

Since then, he’s donated tens of billions to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, one of the world’s largest charitable organizations, focusing on global health, education, and poverty alleviation.

Gates has also made it clear that his children will not inherit most of his money.

According to Gates, he and his ex-wife Melinda wanted to instill a strong work ethic in their kids, so they will be receiving only about $10 million each.

This is still a fortune to most, but less than 0.01 percent of his total net worth.

It’s hard for Bill Gates to spend his fortune

So what could you still do with just one percent of Bill Gates’s fortune?

Well, let’s do the math here.

He could get started with 50 Bugatti Chirons, which cost $3 million apiece, adding up to $150 million.

Cristiano Ronaldo has a customized Gulfstream G650 jet costing $75 million, so Bill Gates could probably pick up about 10 of those, for $750 million.

Of course, he still needs a place to stay.

Taylor Swift recently put up her iconic Cape Cod mansion for sale at $14.5 million.

If Gates buys another 10 of those, is he finally broke?

No, if you’ve been punching in the numbers into your calculator correctly, after this insane (and unrealistic) spending spree, he will still be left with $125 million.

In a nutshell, even if he only has one percent of his fortune left, he would still be among the ranks of the top 0.01 percent globally.
