Tottenham Hotspur are facing tough competition for this Serie A ace

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are facing tough competition for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi. It has been stated that Spurs would have to rival Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Roma in the race to land the Italy international.

Frattesi’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Frattesi enjoyed a solid run of form at the Italian club as he was responsible for producing a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Italian talent managed to score seven times and earned two assists in 47 matches for Inter Milan last season across all fronts.

The 25-year-old did well to average 2.02 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A and kept 26.9% of his attempts on target. He was even careful when distributing the ball after completing 82.5% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com).

Frattesi is under contract at the Italian club until the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for Spurs to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Move In For Frattesi?

Frattesi is a solid tackler of the ball and can make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. He is an accurate passer of the ball as well and usually generates some power with his shot attempts from long range.

The Italian sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield. He mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder if required.

We can expect Frattesi to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.

At 25, Frattesi has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent option for Spurs to consider in this transfer period. However, he would need some time to adjust to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing a player of Frattesi’s skill set. Thus, Tottenham should focus on moving in for him ahead of the new campaign.
