Chelsea could still move for Premier League star despite summer spend being set to exceed £100m – but Blues face ONE major issue in transfer battle

Chelsea have not ruled out a move for West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, who is also wanted by Tottenham, despite being set to splash more than £100million collectively on two other forwards in Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.

However, the belief is the Blues would likely need to sell players before swooping for the 24-year-old Ghanaian who is available for sale this summer as the Hammers are looking to fund their own summer buys.

Chelsea have looked at the possibility of sending players to West Ham in return, but sources at the London Stadium have told Mail Sport that they are not interested in the potential trades that have been broached thus far.

Kudus has an £85million release clause for Premier League clubs and £125m for Saudi sides as previously revealed by Mail Sport.

West Ham are not demanding those fees in full, however, as they would be willing to listen to more reasonable offers for their winger.

Manchester United and Newcastle have also shown an interest in Kudus as well as Chelsea and Tottenham.

Chelsea have already agreed fees worth around £55m with Brighton and Borussia Dortmund for Pedro and Gittens respectively, having also signed Liam Delap from Ipswich for £30m.

Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt is another forward with whom the Blues have been heavily linked this summer.

Pedro, the 23-year-old Brazilian, flew from Brazil to the United States on Sunday night to meet his new team-mates and hold his medical ahead of signing officially.

It is not known who Chelsea would be willing to sell this summer other than the obvious candidates such as Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Armando Broja.

Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are two other big names for whom they would listen to offers, while Djordje Petrovic, their goalkeeper who spent last season on loan at Strasbourg, was left out of the Club World Cup squad that travelled to the United States.

Noni Madueke has attracted interest from Premier League rivals such as Newcastle and Arsenal, but Chelsea like the England winger.
