Premier League side Nottingham Forest were in talks for a €23m move for the pair, but according to Tuttosport, Weah and Mbangula are unwilling to join the English club.

Both players reacted to Tudor’s decision with an Instagram story.

The American winger wrote: “God, when life feels heavy and hope runs thin, remind me I am not alone. I may be tested, but I won’t be broken. You gave me strength that storms can’t steal and light that darkness can’t drown.

“Keep my faith alive when all else fades. For those that need to hear this today, you’re never alone.”
