Odds slashed on Premier League club to sign Eberechi Eze as details around release clause emerge

A clear favourite has emerged in the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze as the England international continues to be linked with a big-money move.

Eze, who finished last season’s Premier League campaign with eight goals and eight assists to his name, is said to have a release clause of around £68 million in his Crystal Palace contract, according to talkSPORT.

A number of clubs are reportedly interested, including Tottenham, who appear to be prioritising a wide player in the market after being strongly linked with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo amd Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

However, their North London rivals Arsenal are also keen. In fact, odds have been slashed on Eze completing a transfer to the Gunners, who are now 6/4 favourites to make a transfer happen this summer.

“Arsenal have been the second favourites behind Tottenham to sign Eze since last year,” said talkSPORT Bet. “But suddenly they’ve taken the lead with some movement likely happening ahead of the new season.”

As well as the above, Bet365 have slashed their odds from 25/1 to 2/1 on Eze joining Arsenal.

Eberechi Eze next club odds revealed

Tottenham are currently the second-favourites to sign the 26-year-old as Thomas Frank searches for a wide player, but several other Premier League clubs are also listed as potential suitors, including Manchester United and Manchester City.

Here are the odds in full, as per talkSPORT Bet:

-Arsenal 6/4

-Tottenham 2/1

-Any German Club 12/1

Manchester City 12/1

-Any French Club 12/1

-Manchester United 12/1

Liverpool 12/1

-Any Spanish Club 12/1

-BAR 20/1

Eze was on the books at Arsenal as youngster, but was released in 2011 following a five-year stint in Arsenal’s academy. It was a moment that left him in bits.

Speaking to The Independent in 2020, he said: “I was 13 [when I was released]. That was the worst one. I remember crying in my room for a solid week, my mum telling me that it’s going to be OK but not being able to get over it.

“Then I went to Fulham and I was finally starting to enjoy my football again. We played Arsenal a few months later but, when I went over to shake the academy manager’s hand, I started welling up. All the feelings came back.”

Eze also said his “dream” was to play for Arsenal as he spoke about his release.

“My dream was to play for them so hearing them say no at 13 that was tough and I remember like training after I got released and I couldn’t focus,” he told the Rising Ballers YouTube channel..

“I was crying but I think that helped me so much in the other rejections because if I can get through Arsenal releasing me I can get through any other club releasing me. My mindset was if it was not going to be Arsenal I have to find somewhere else.”
