Real Betis are stepping up for Italy international Federico Chiesa, who is expected to leave Liverpool on loan this summer.

The beaten Conference League Finalists had been hoping to keep Antony for longer after his fantastic spell while on loan from Manchester United.

However, they simply cannot afford the cost and Manchester United are eager to cash in quickly rather than wait for another loan move.

According to Football Espana, Betis see Italy international Chiesa as a valid and more realistic alternative to another Antony loan.

The 27-year-old struggled for any playing time at Liverpool this season, making just 14 competitive appearances, in which he contributed two goals and two assists.

He is not expected to remain at Anfield, with several Serie A sides interested in bringing him back, including Milan, Napoli and Roma.

Betis might represent an intriguing new challenge for Chiesa, who saw just how life at the Benito Villamarin revitalised Antony and would hope for the same outcome.
