The hotel has an understated loveliness to it with 96 rooms and a cozy lobby lounge that feels like it could be the library from the board game Clue. (But in a good way.) Through its Pawlisociety pet package, the hotel welcomes one pet under 30 pounds per room for a fee. Guests receive organic treats, a plush dog bed, toys, ceramic bowls, and waste bags. Sometimes the vibes matters as much as the amenities. It’s hard to put a price on atmosphere, which this Ritz-Carlton, one of the newest in the country, offers in spades. The front staff greet guests warmly, and the doormen often keep treats on hand to spoil passing dogs—just be sure they indulge in moderation. There are the basic amenities available of course, like the dog bowls and the bed, but the quality really comes from the hospitality of the staff who make everyone feel welcome, dogs included. Guests can bring up to two pets under 40 pounds. The residences (which are separate from the hotel) also include a rooftop pet-relief area and dog-walking services.
The Weston, Vermont

The Weston is the epitome of a cozy woodland retreat for city dwellers seeking a perfect mix of luxury and country living. For dogs, that includes stainless steel Yeti water and food bowls, freshly-made welcome treats, and a very large cozy dog bed. The hotel, with a total of nine guest suites, welcomes one dog under 50 pounds per reservation.
